18775. View of the meadows between Grahovo and Žerovnica (on the picture) villages with Snežnik mountain on the horizon

18774. Snežnik from the same standpoint, yet up close

18783. Someone has sprayed the stone markers (možic in Slovenian) with red paint, undoubtedly with good intentions. As this act is nature-unfriendly and therefore prohibited, it helps the orientation of cavers, returning from the pit in darkness, immensely.

18782. On the rock wall left of the entrance (as seen from the incoming direction) is the logo of the cave.

18779. Three hearts up close

18780. Cave entrance is situated in a typical karst setting, in collapsed and very denudated environs, along a major fissure.

18777. Diba above the entrance

18778. View inside, first shaft is about 30 meters deep.

18781. The rope to the first spit is attached to a pine tree above the cave.

18785. Ikarus

18787. Diba

18788. At the campfire

18776. Fireplace was neatly fenced by stones.

18789. It is not easy to get to the cave. From the gas station in
Cerknica to the campsite it is exactly 48 kilometers, one half on
unpaved forest roads. Before the campsite the uphill road levels up,
just after the rock on the right.
The cave is about 300 meters away, down the two log-haul trails, from
the last stone markers show the way down to the cave. Escort of the local
cavers (DZRJL - Ljubljana caving society, is currently developing the
cave, for contact click
here) is not only strongly recommended, but in the best interest of
potential outside visitors.
