At the Najdena jama Cave Entrance

25080. 9 members of the 1960s DZRJL (Ljubljana Grotto) caving team gathered to make another small step towards the discovery of the long lost (now for over a century) and most elusive Lipertova jama Cave. The cave, one of the last, and probably greatest mysteries in the land of the classical karst, very likely has a covered entrance, but is known to be in the vicinity of Najdena jama Cave and in the immediate vicinity of Galacijevka Cave. The latter has an 11 m shaft as the entrance, followed by a fissure with strong air current, but too narrow to pass through. To facilitate the access to the fissure a wooden ladder will be constructed and this is what today's excursion is all about. In the picture, left to right: Mare, Metod, Žan, Manč, Ile, Trenc, Klok and Ičo. France is missing, he had many other duties to attend to and departed before the picture could be made.

Near the Galacijevka Cave Entrance

25082. Mare peeled 30 rods for the future ladder steps.

25083. Transporting the longer pole, one of the ladder rails, to the cave

25084. The first attempt, to get the rail into the cave from the south, failed. The pole got stuck very quickly, it had to be pulled out for another try.

25085. The second attempt to lower the pole into the cave from the east

25086. After several corrections the pole started to move by itself and landed at a satisfactory depth.

25087. Both ladder rails almost in position - the shorter rail reached the cave bottom while the longer one got stuck about a meter and a half above it.

25089. Manč neatly packed his backpack, including a partly consumed sixpack of premium Bohemian ale.

25088. Ile, Metod and Mare have put all the ladder steps, which Mare had peeled, into a heap and measures were undertaken to avoid an eventual unpleasant surprise when the ladder construction will resume in the near future.
