From Dehibolo to Boysun, August 20

50444. The old, now abandoned track to Dehibolo from the river valley, ...

50445. ... and the ZIL truck on the road below it.

50446. Sunrise over Chul-Bair mountain, Dehibolo is center-right.

50448. Ural, the all-terrain truck (грузовик вездеход) driver

50450. In Dugobà we crossed the river (the bridge behind the truck is in repair) and Ural fetched a bucket of water ...

50449. ... first to replenish the additional engine water tank on the front side of the cargo bed ...

50451. ... and another bucket for the engine's cooler.

50452. Ural at the wheel

50454. Unloading the truck in Boysun

50455. After a 300 km travel by bus we arrived to Samarkand and in the evening a traditional, end-of-expedition dinner took place in the Karimbek restaurant.

50457. Windows and doors on the upper floor of the two-storey inner hall

50456. Indian toilet, nice and tidy

50458. The idea of visiting Registan, the historical heart of Samarkand, in the night after a day of travel and an ample dinner in the Karimbek restaurant, seemed appealing and time saving but turned out to be a bit of a too much. During the guide's explanation of historic life and events only Ženja S. could keep his eyes (barely) open.

From Samarkand to Tashkent, August 21

50459. Souvenir vendor at the door of her shop

50467. A begging woman with an infant in the market

50468. In the garden of the Youth and sports hostel where we stayed there was a small pool. Ženja S. could not resist this temptation.

50470. Dog harmony

50471. In the evening we arrived to Tashkent, to the base of Asia adventures DMC (Destination Management Company). In the picture - an Uzbek ceramic plate with a lovely dot patterned bird motif on the wall of the reception room.

In the air, westbound, August 22

50472. A small cloud and its shadow on the Black sea surface

50473. A layer of low clouds (with an opening) below the plane's wing
