Lepotica in zver, 15 March

52191. The cave, cave registry number 11663 is 35 meters long and 15 meters deep, the entrance is 675 meters above sea level. Access to the cave is not difficult - along the forest road to the intersection, where the road makes a sharp turn, first to the west and then back to the east. At the intersection, you have to continue not up the slope to the west, but straight ahead to the east, almost along the isohypsis, for another 100 meters. To a large clearing where the road ends and a place for an apiary is marked. Two paths go ahead, the left, larger one, in the ENE direction, and the other, more straight, ESE, slightly uphill. After 300 meters along this path, the entrance to the cave is clearly seen on the right side. In the photo: a view in the direction of 160⁰ (south is 180⁰) over a fissure with the cave. From the standpoint, which is at the lower end of the entrance, to the bottom is at least 10 meters of vertical descent. The author was a little clumsy, he leaned his hazel walking stick, which kept him company for about four years, against the beech tree, which is clearly visible in the middle of the next photo. While searching for the right place to take the photo, he accidentally kicked the stick, which bounced down the slope a few times before landing at the bottom.

52197. The end of the Side tunnel, lit by two LED reflectors, placed behind a small rock pillar that separates two wall niches.

52198. The walls are very varied, in some places softly rounded, there are many wall and ceiling indentations, some of them are quite deep and show that the tunnel continued before the bottom was covered by sediments, mainly clay. View back along the tuneel ...

52203. If, when the path crosses the ridge on the south side of the collpase doline at the Northern entrance to Skednena jama, you do not take the wider path to the east back to the South entrance, but to the west towards Kališka cesta, the entrance to the Kobilnica cave opens shortly to the left under the trail. It has cave registry number 3109, is 11 meters deep and 63 meters long. As is the case with Maozedong's cave (cave reg. no. 492) in the Škofji lom, a little closer towards the village of Laze, Kobilnica also hides quite a few surprises, and cavers from the northern side of the Alps, guests of the nearby speleo camping, have dug in it many times. In the photo: the view from the cave towards the entrance.
