Velika Karlovica
The entrance was dry for the first time since the last summer, after the autumn, winter and spring floods.

The images, except for the portrait, where the vertical side measures 450 pixels, are mostly 768 by 1024 pixels in size, numbers in front of the picture descriptions are serial numbers of the original photo files. Jože Stražišar from Dolenja vas contributed to the making of these photos. The names of parts of the cave are sometimes the author's.
The purpose of the excursion was again to photograph the Mud Hall in Velika Karlovica, accessed through the tunnel at Rakovski mostek. The water level was substantally lower than a week ago, but still too high. But for the first time in a long time, the entrance to Velika Karlovica was dry.

55631. The stream that flowed into the Rakovski Mostek tunnel still had about 5 liters per second, it had not dried up yet.

55630. A rake in front of the tunnel. For the water level in the pond behind them to drop so much that the shelf on the left side of the tunnel would become passable with boots, the stream would probably have to dry up completely. It was hot and the author didn't need a helmet. He put it in the transport bag and made a beret out of his tube undercap.

55632. The fruits of the blackthorn, Prunus spinosa, have already started to change color from green to blue.

55633. View from the overhang in the first bay in the cliff above the lake bank, north of Mala Skednenca. It was created when a large rock that had broken off the wall did not roll all the way down, but hung on two large ones, just the right distance apart.

55634. An escargot, Helix pomatia, glued itself to the wall in the overhang.

55635. An abandoned hunting tower. At first glance, it looked quite firm, and the author was interested in whether one could still have a good view through the tree branches from its platform. But when he crawled to the top over the a bit creaky steps, the completely weathered upper platform convinced him to immediately, although slowly and carefully, descend back down, without a photo through the branches.

55636. European birthwort, Aristolochia clematitis - in some places it dominates the dense, hardly passable riparian vegetation.

55637. View across the Stržen riverbed to the lake and Slivnica, on the left under the bushes there is a large patch of green spurge.
