17966. Ticks, here is a male member of the Ixodidae family, about 5 mm long, are abundant, though no large mammals were seen on the island. Luckily they are large and can be easily spotted on light-coloured clothing such as beige jeans in the picture.

17973. On the lower road from Selo to Stupica vela a side road forks right not far away from the Kućišta ruin, it leads to a construction material dump. On the southern side of the dump a trail can be seen which leads to the sea - it is marked by small stone pyramids. The shore is rocky without any proper beach but still attractive to walk above it. The picture shows calcite crystals flown amidst more compact calcium carbonate stone.
