Članska vas Village

35799. 18 m stainless wire rope (around 10 mm in diameter) the excavation team de-installed from the Primož Krivic trail (via ferrata) in Najdena jama cave, after a warning by one of the senior DZRJL members that the wire rope could be dangerous - because of a damage he noticed - one wire in the rope was broken. In the picture it is seen lower left - damage upper left was inflicted by Marjan here in Članska vas - to check how much abuse the wire could stand before it would really break (a lot). The company in Vipava valley, the supplier of via ferrata wire ropes for the Planinska zveza Slovenije / Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS), was contacted for a replacement but they are out of stock. Recently they had a large order from PZS, 1 km of wire rope for mountain trails which was already delivered. To order just 18 meters makes no sense, the company will wait till they receive more orders. So the time Primož Krivic trail in the cave gets a new wire rope is hard to predict, it certainly will not be in the near future. The trail operated only two years, since the spring 2015, and brought renewed attention to Najdena jama cave - currently there are two teams working on its possible continuation, on Radošca site and in Kobilnica cave.

35803. ... Blooms of perforate St John's-wort, Hypericum perforatum, šentjanževka in Slovenian, which he harvested today. Soaked in olive oil they make an excellent treatment for burns.

35804. Brajko also returned from the cave.

35824, 35825. Composite view from the beginning of the new part of Radoshitza cave (where work started a year ago (Radošca 1, June 21, 2016). In front rocks from the lower depot are seen, and the 2 m jump (the largest chamber in Radošca so far) above it.

35828. View from the lower tunnel to the lower depot

35829. End of the tunnel, with a pile of freshly broken rocks - in available light ...

35831. Less than an hour later, during which the photographer, packed in the tight space, was throwing stones, fistful by fistful, 2 to 4 meters upwards in the incoming tunnel, the end was cleared ...

35832. ... and a small continuation can be seen middle left.
