35920. Jozl and his grandson Oskar paid us a visit for the first time. Oskar will go to school in the fall.

35920. Jozl and his grandson Oskar paid us a visit for the first time. Oskar will go to school in the fall.
35921. Suddenly a storm-announcing wind started to blow and soon afterwards it rained cats and dogs.
35924. Buckets were hauled up by Žan and Ile, unisono. In the picture - Žan just emptied another bucket and is returning with it to Ile, singing: In po žilah mi kipi / mlada ribn'ška kri. (It reigns in my veins / young Ribnica blood.). It is to say that Ile lives in Ribnica, place known all over Slovenia and abroad for people who make kitchen utensils made of wood.
35923. Jure kept track of the events at close distance, protected from the elements by a large umbrella.
35925. An old bucket, on this excursion in use for the first time, broke in no time. The cause was that it was previously kept outside, in the yard of a senior member of the excavation team, for some 10 years or so.
35926. Bucket number 80 on top. Today a record was achieved, 112 buckets were hauled all the way up, from the excavation front and from the lower depot.
35927. Modrc received an empty bucket on a rope which Ile threw down the entrance shaft, ...
35930. ... filled it, shouted Ile to pull the rope ...
35928. ... and the bucket flied towards the surface.
35931. Marjan carried the buckets he received from Metod up the tunnel ...
35932. ... to Gregor, who lifted them to the lower depot.

35935. Metod and the photographer changed places, no simple task in the tight space, Lanko passed him the last bucket ...
35942. ... and they also changed places so the photographer could take some pictures of the excavation site - here seen from the distance ...

35937. After that he passed the camera to Lanko and turned himself from legs first to head first (half a forward roll, would be done much more easily without the helmet) so that he could extend his head to the front of the collapse, as seen here by Lanko ...

35943. The photo intermezzo was, to opinion of many, especially Modrc, way too long and as soon as possible the excavation continued. Lanko filled a bucket ...

35945. ... second (empty) one and back to filling again.
35946. Beki decided to combine business and pleasure and organized a field excursion of fellow biology students, for a survey of lichen distribution and size on tree bark, to Lanski vrh. In the picture: Beki, Blaž and Mojca.
35947. Manč, temporarily relieved from cave duty till the consequences of a close encounter with robotic surgery fade off, and Gregor. The latter already departed to the cave entrance (without the helmet) to help pull out some more buckets to surpass the number 100 (of buckets in one day) but had second thoughts about the possibility that his help could also come in handy in the cave, and so returned to take the helmet any way.
35948. After a recent downpour the sky cleared up a bit.
35949. The biology team returned to Članska vas where Žan took the opportunity to show off his rich experience in this natural science. Topics ranged from entomology - the Cerambycidae family, from Morimus funereus to Rosalia alpina (bukov in alpski kozliček) to botany, to determination of the trees planted around Članska vas. In the picture: Jure, Janko, Žan, David, Beki, Mojca and Blaž.
