Skednena jama, January 11

53222. The author visited Skednena jama in a beautiful, sunny but not too cold weather to see if any icicles developed during two rather icy nights and mornings. According to Mare, it was still a little too early, for sizeable icicles a longer sub-zero period would be needed. And Marko was right, as it turned out later. But the author was surprised by the scenic, cinematic light in the South entrance of the cave. The photo shows the view from inside the tunnel upwards in the direction of the South Entrance, which is hidden on the left behind the bend. Technical data of the photo with the phone camera: night mode, focal length 6.35 mm (Leica format equivalent would be 27 mm), f 2.0, 3 seconds, ISO 100.

53224. In the North Entrance, the icicles were still quite small. The water seeping from the ceiling near the fissure (middle left of the picture), where they are usually the largest, washed them away little by little during the warmer part of the day.

53223. Ice buds on the floor, next to the dripping water

53225. The thickest ice was enveloping these dry branches, situated already in the exterior of the North Entrance.
