Marjan Juvan - Manč, Igor Maksim Košir - Ičo, Marjan Baričič and Janez Modrijan - Modrc
participated in the excursion to the Radošca 3 excavation site, which took place at the same time
and also from the Članska vas shelter. The names of the parts of the cave are often the author's.
The goal of the field trip to Jama v Škofjem lomu was to install a traverse from the Entrance Hall
to Putik's tunnel and to remove some rocks from the siphon at the bottom of the
Entrance Hall, the siphon which connects this cave to Žanova jama. Thanks to Vladimir Levašov, both
goals were achieved, as well as the pictures in this report (Vladimir has a red caving suit). There
hasn't been much going on in the cave for almost 20 years, but this contribution is a harbinger of,
hopefully, more lively times. At the very low water level, the siphon will have to be visited again.
The very narrow natural entrance to Žanova jama is very difficult to find, and probably
completely overgrown by now. After passing the vertical passage the caver finds
himself on the ceiling of the hall above the lake, and it is necessary to lower a deflated boat
to the water surface, and inflate it from a rope or ladder.

VL26. The end of Putik's tunnel, the northernmost point of the cave. The photo shows the mine supports, which were erected by Viljem Putik's team in the 1880s. The aim was to increase the permeability of the sinkholes in Planinsko polje in order to reduce the duration of annual floods.
