Most images are approximately 768 x 1024 pixels in size, numbers in front of the picture descriptions are serial numbers of the original photo files. Jože Stražišar from Dolenja vas contributed to the success of the excursion in many ways, the yellow water-lily was recognized by Jožek Košir - Cox and Daniel Rojšek - Danč. The names of cave parts were sometimes given by the author.

53947. View from the viewpoint to the east, across Dolenjska blata, with Javorniki mountain chain on the right.
53948. The author took the road from the viewpoint in the wrong direction, going north instead of south. When the marked path branched off down towards the lake, he followed it and reached the meadows much too far, already almost close to the village of Dolenja vas. Now he knew he had to go south and went along the edge of the field. View across the meadow to the south, towards Javorniki.
53949. Bees forage on Canadian goldenrod, Solidago canadensis
53950. View of Slivnica, 1114 m a. s. l.
53951. View of the artificial entrance to Velika Karlovica, the now enlarged, fenced and walled cave Rakovski mostek
53952. Since the author did not know exactly how far the true entrance to Velika Karlovica was, he tried to keep as close as possible to the edge of the lake plain so as not to miss the entrance. Which meant a lot of crawling through various game paths, which were trodden through the bushes for the height of the game, a little too low for a two-legged man. In the photo: a puddle in the stream bed, view to the northeast.
53953. Duckweed, Lemna minor on the water surface among the coarse woody debris
53954. Yellow water lily, Nuphar lutea
53955. Cloud over Podskrajnik
53956. Water frog, Pelophylax esculentus, hidden among the reeds
53957. Rake in front of the cave
53958. Entrance to the cave with a concrete dam, which has a large tube at the bottom for the drainage at low water level.
53964. Large dune in the Bukovec tunnel, from fine sand on the left to thicker sand on the right, at the place where the tunnel ceiling descends for the first time - view to the north
53962. View downstream of the tunnel above which the Kalvarija (Calvary hall) opens up. The person in the photo is in the lower part of the picture.
53961. View back towards the Kalvarija
53960. View downstream along the Bukovec tunnel, approximately 300 meters from the entrance
53965. A path leads from the cave to the road in the forest above it. Path is a via ferrata at the steepest point. This one is not equipped with a steel wire rope, but with a chain, which is much easier to grip, especially without gloves. When he got to the car, the author now knew how to get from the forest road to the cave in about five minutes, and after returning, he learned from Jože how to get from Dolenje vas to the cave by the shortest route, also in five minutes.
